Day at the Ballpark

What better way to start a travel blog than write a post about a day at the ballpark? Baseball has been a favorite past time, having grown up in Atlanta and spending summer nights at Turner Field. Now, I am on a mission to visit all active MLB stadiums and as many minor and independent league stadiums as possible. (Also, visit all the WPBL stadiums once they start expanding out into their respective cities. I was there to see history made at their very first game on August 1st.)

Last night marked my last Louisville Bats game this season, which was sad not just because the Bats lost to the Stripers but because this has been a season of firsts. First time at Slugger Field. First time catching a game ball. (I ended up getting four total, and all were authenticated by Buddy Bat himself.) First time at Thunder Over Louisville, which marks the start of Derby Season and which I was able to participate in while at the stadium. It has been a fun ride this season.

Do I plan on going back for the 2027 season? Of course! I want to witness Thunder again and see if I can get some more foul balls. But, I also hope to visit more stadiums as well, especially since Kentucky, my current home, has four baseball teams. There are countless more teams in the surrounding states.

Figured that I should keep this first one short, but I will back next week after visiting PNC Park in Pittsburgh. See you then.
